| Make a note in your diaries, the 32th Newcastle Beer Festival will be open to the public from Wednesday 2nd April to Saturday 5th April 2008, at the Union Society, Newcastle University, King's Walk, Newcastle upon Tyne.
The capacity for next year's festival is being increased 25% by the use of additional space within the building. Other planned changes should also see extra beers and a seperate, larger cider bar. Full details will be made available nearer the event at www.cannybevvy.co.uk
More volunteers than ever before will be required to assist in making the 2008 Newcastle Beer Festival the biggest and best yet. If you've never worked at a beer festival before but would like to know more about it, let me know via this forum and I'll be in touch with more details. |

| Festival starts 6.00pm on Wednesday 2nd April at 6.00pm then Thursday & Friday 12.00 noon to 10.30pm, Saturday 12.00pm till 7.00pm or when the beer runs out. No tickets required just pay at the door £2.00 entry, Free to card carrying CAMRA members. Come early to avoid the queues
120 beers from all over the country plus ciders and perries
We have extra space this year so there should be room for everyone

Is attendance up on last year?

| Just wanted to say congratulations on the festival over the weekend. We were up from Reading for the football, but spent two nights in the city and visited the festival at lunchtime on Friday, and both before and after the game. We would have been there on Friday night as well, but the queue at 7pm was way too long to contemplate standing without a beer when there are so many great pubs close by!
Was there a beer of the Festival announced at all? Must have been a difficult choice...hope to see some of you down at the Reading Beer Festival starting Thursday 1st May... |
