However, does anyone know when the beer of the festival is announced, and how it is decided on. Who makes the choice and actually votes.

I have spoken to a few CAMRA members who all seem rather vague on this, and were over the last few years at the Newcastle festivals I asked them about this.

At every outlet you should be offered a voting form on which to record your top 3 favourite beers, local brewery and National brewery. The votes will then be counted and the top 40 beers will be available across March 2008. Prizes such as brewery visits and t-shirts are mentioned. In my opinion it has and alternative venues should be discussed for future years.

I'm guessing that the main problem with enlarging the festival is staffing.
