Hi all, hope the beer drinking is going well.

We continue to ride out the credit crunch here at Hadrian and Border. So far anyway, with your much appreciated help.
Business is going very well, up again in February. Month after month this seems to be the case. A good thing.

We have, as mentioned, been selected to brew the commemorative beer for the 'Rappers' celebrations this weekend. Andy and I put our heads together and came up with a brand new ale. It is brewed to the specifications the guys requested. We decided to use a hope called Galena. This is new to us here at H & B. It is heavily hopped at the aroma stage, and the results are very pleasing. A light beer at 3.7% ABV, and very citrusy on the nose.

It's great being a brewer and getting to taste these beers before anyone else. A perk of the job.

Good luck to the Rappers in their celebrations. The beer is available at a few outlets, but most of this one off brew is already sold. Good luck in getting some. It is called DERT 09.

The next special will be Byker Jazz at 4.3% ABV, and available from next week. Last month's Northumbrian Gold went down a treat, thanks for the positive comments.

We are going to brew the Ouseburn Porter again, due to huge demand. We were suprised by this one ourselves. I think the boys at the Newcastle Arms are putting the stuff on their breakfast cereal judging by the quantities the managed to get through.

We continue to look for bigger premises, to allow for our much needed expansion. We have things in the pipeline, and I shall update you all when we are in a position to do so.

In the meantime, happy drinking and take care.

Northern Brewer.

So a hectic month its been and another hectic month on the cards eh?
The Northumbrian Gold was spot on, sampled it in three locations all in a week ;-) Newcastle Arms, Tilly's and the Boathouse....
Good news on the porter front maybe barry and co. are having instead of coffee aswell ;-) Laughing
Will the new beers be available at the Arms or the Boathouse in the coming week?

Cheers

Andy

Thanks Andy, the Boathouse will be getting some of the DERT beer. So you will be able to try it there.

And No, DERT is spelled correctly, before anyone with nothing else to do makes a comment.

Cheers, Northern Brewer.

Aye up Northern Brewer hope is all ok in the land of H&B?
No recent updates Question
Firstly may I commend you on what seems to be your latest brew Wink
Byker Wit 4.3% Belgian style wit beer.
Very very nice and an easy 'session' beer. From only two pints I sampled in 20 mins at the boathouse and it was superb Cool

Secondly whilst popping into the Bacchus last night I was gob-smacked to see Tyneside Blonde out. Again congratulations on this recent brew, you seem to improve brew after brew, if only I could get your gear down south to introduce to my southern pals.

Keep up the good work my man! lol!

Kind Regards
Andy
