Beers

Current :Auld Hemp, Nel’s Best, Matfen Magic, Sundancer (just finished), Red Shep (just starting)

Planned :Nothing planned

Capacity

Brewery is a 10-barrel plant. Currently brewing three times a week.

Outlets

The brewery has added a number of outlets over the summer – it is now reaching further up the coast.

Distribution (no change from last report)

Currently on Sir John Fitzgerald, Flying Firkin, Beer Seller, and Wetherspoons lists.

Other

Steve Urwin is still heavily involved with Business Link. Michael Harker is still head brewer, and Sally Urwin is still managing the brewery. The Visitor Centre is now under the management of Heather and Gary Scott, and is running summer opening times – 10:30am till 5pm Sunday to Tuesday, closed Wednesday, and open later for meals Thursday - Saturday.

Sales manager Susan Greener is again pregnant, expecting around January.

There will be a “celebratory” weekend over the August Bank Holiday when the brewery’s 400th brew is put on sale. They were hoping to do a special beer, but this has not been possible. It is expected that the 400th brew will be Nel’s Best. A BBQ will be held at the brewery on Saturday evening, 29th August.

The brewery has once again exceeded expectations as far as sales were concerned, sales are currently 48% – 50% up on last year.
