The great news that the pub has now re-opened under the ownership of Allendale brewery is reported in today's Journal.

It may have taken the Save the Crown Action Group nine years to defeat the previous owner (who wanted to convert the pub into a house and in fact did so but illegally) to finally get the pub re-opened.

But at least they've showed that perseverance pays-off!
