PostSubject: Newc Arms Winter Beer Fest follow up!!   Mon Feb 09, 2009 4:03 pm

Many thanks to all that attended our recent festival. We were overjoyed at the turnout and enthusiasm displayed by the many familiar and also new faces that called in over the weekend. Just a few facts for anybody who is interested.

- From thu till sun we served up 45 different cask ales plus 2 ciders
- If you had been in the place from open till close on Fri 6th you could
have sampled 27 beers on tap!!
- A full cask of Highland's Orkney IPA sold out in just 1hr 10m on fri and
the Dark Star American Pale Ale lasted only 1hr 45m on the sat.

For anybody who could not attend, we still have some Durham Archangel 6.8 and Facers winter porter on the bar and also half a cask of Orkney porter 9% in the cellar that shall make an appearance sometime soon, so catch it while you can.

PostSubject: Beer Festival at Newcastle Arms   Tue Feb 10, 2009 6:47 am

Well done once again to Neil and the gang for organising a terrific festival for the good folks (and others) who enjoy the Newcastle Arms.

A terrific choice and quantity of beers were available, in prime condition (including the Ouseburn Porter!!!). So much was consumed it was a major success.

Once again well done, for an event of such magnitude, set up and run with minimum fuss.

Cheers, Northern Brewer.

Barry - you've forgotten one!! Rudgate Old Grog (4.1) was available on Friday night - does that mean 28 beers were available on Friday?
