| Today saw the first cask of the northeast’s new red kite inspired beer, Northern Kite, tapped at an event staged at the Run O’ the Mill pub, at Winlaton Mill, in the heart of Gateshead’s kite country. The beer, which has been produced by Wylam Brewery Ltd, is a ruby-ale that is inspired by the kites’ colouring, and it joins the company’s award winning range of real ales brewed at Heddon on the Wall.
The beer, which is available in cask and bottle versions, can now be sampled at pubs around the region, as well as a number of retail outlets in its bottled version.
Get out and try some - it is a great pint and being ruby coloured makes a change from all the golden ales arounnd at the moment. Congratulations to all at Wylam for producing yet another great beer |

| Had it in the Tyne Pub on October 24th and it is a very canny beer.
